International Call for Scores

The NSO will perform another "Call for scores" world premiere during the 2015-16 season. Due to the numerous responses in 2014 we will forgo an additional call at this time.

The NSO announces a Call for Scores from composers of any nationality or age to submit a work for presentation in the following NSO season.

The Northwest Symphony Orchestra announces the International Call for Scores winners for the 2014-15 season.

The process of reviewing materials from over 250+ composers from throughout the world was inspiring and humbling. There is much creativity, talent and curiosity among the composers of today. We are thrilled to share these works of art with our listeners!

NSO International Call for Scores 2014
Guidelines
 

Open to all ages and nationalities.
No submission fee.
 
There are two categories:
 
1. Works showing a local connection to the northwest suburban region of Chicago
2. Works from composers from outside the region.
 
Works should be of moderate technical difficulty, between 6-12 minutes in length.
Instrumentation: 3222 – 4331, 2 percussion, harp, strings – or less.
 
Transposing scores, rather than “Scores in C”, are preferred. Recordings (live or MIDI) are optional.
Please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for submissions to be returned.
