Journeys provide insights into our lives and inner world. The composer Robert Schumann experienced a rich inner life as he dealt with numerous crises, artistic and otherwise. His 4th symphony offers a glimpse into his world of self-doubt, questioning, and consolation.

We pair this with the premiere of Dale Trumbore’s Harmony in Gold, chosen through the NSO’s International Call for Score. Dale creates a walk through flowing colors and rich textures inspired by vocal music.

Our guest artist Masahito Sugihara brings his saxophone virtuosities to Marcello’s well-known Oboe Concerto. This will be a stunning re-visit to a Baroque classic!
