Assistant Conductor

Anthony Krempa received his Bachelor of Music degree in instrumental  music education from Wayne State University, Michigan in 1996 following with post-grad credits at Wayne State and Vandercook College in education and conducting. Mr. Krempa served as the director of orchestras for the Birmingham Public Schools over a fifteen year period, as well as leading the choir and assisting with the band programs during his tenure. He has co-founded and led the Oakland Youth Orchestra's string and Philharmonic orchestra over 13 seasons, conducted the Detroit Civic Ensembles Sinfonia and Academy String orchestras, as well as assisting with the Philharmonia and Civic Orchestra over 7 seasons. Mr. Krempa is a sought after guest conductor, clinician and summer camp director, having been engaged by the Michigan chapter of ASTA as their session three music director the past five summers, as well as engagements working with area school districts and honors ensembles. In the summer of 2013 he served as the conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s AVANTI summer workshop which combined intense chamber sessions with DSO members and full orchestra rehearsals and performances. 

Mr. Krempa is currently working as an orchestra and band instructor with the Marquardt School District in Glendale Heights, Illinois as well as performing with several professional orchestras in the Chicago area, acting as a judge and clinician with several youth orchestras in the greater Chicagoland area and working as an active chamber ensemble performer.
